30 years learning her craft

Originally from the UK, Janet has a B.Sc. in mathematics from Southampton University. Moving to Toronto, Canada, she pursued a corporate career until 2000 ending up as a senior executive for the Hospitals of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP).  Merging her management skills with her passion – astrology – Janet became President of the Canadian Association for Astrological Education (CAAE) where she oversaw the first graduates complete the Diploma program in 2009. In 2013, she completed an MA in Cultural Astronomy and Astrology with merit from the University of Wales, Trinity Saint David. Her MA studies fuelled an interest in the field of archeoastronomy with her dissertation on the Sacred Landscape of the Hopewell culture of Ohio.

Attention to detail

Given her mathematical background, Janet loves to teach the Mathematics of Astrology course for the Canadian Association for Astrological Education (CAAE). She brings the same attention to detail to the other specialty courses – Vocational Astrology, Chart Rectification, Counselling Skills for Astrologers, Astrology of Relationships. She has also lectured and sees clients within Canada and abroad. If you are at a stage in your astrological studies where you are willing to take a deep dive, then Janet is there with you.

Being grounded

Several people have reflected on this (Toronto Star link) and it feels like this is Janet’s true purpose. To take what is going on in the sky at any particular moment, and to be able to bring it down to earth. Whether that is through a personal reading of the natal birth chart to see what might be on the horizon, teaching courses in astrology, or through suggestions for essential oils (Janet is an aromatherapist), or the value of meditation and exercise.

I moved out to the East Coast from Ontario in 2017 and I was a bit worried that I would not find it so easy to carry on with my Astrology studies.  Fortunately it was easier than I had anticipated thanks to Skype and other forms of social media.
