In this 6-week online course, students practice setting up a birth chart using only astronomical tables plus a scientific calculator.

Also covered: how to identify astronomical phenomena such as solar and lunar eclipses, retrograde periods, and planetary ingresses using an ephemeris – plus an introduction to basic celestial mechanics.

Course materials required: An American Ephemeris (midnight) plus a small scientific Casio calculator ($10 at Staples).
